Polo rad hoses

What hoses have people succesfully used for instalation of a polo raditor on a book size locost chassis?

I'm using the smallist polo rad, a more or less book chassis and an indy nose cone. So far using a old escort 90 bend on the rad outlet has made possitioning the rad awkward to say the least, so i'm trying to find a tighter 90 degree bend (escort hose has outer radius of 85mm approx).

Universal flexible hoses are one option i'm trying to avoid as the common/cheap ones ruin flow in the colling system and I suspect the expensive ones arn't much better.

I used a gates 90 degree 32mm rubber hose from car builder solutions. Not that cheep but cheeper than silicone and does the job.

Dave
Does the bottom hose from the rad go round the out side of chassis tube LB?

What size copper tube have you used there ? I was told there wasn't any 32mm tube available as a standard size.

Yes the tube goes round the outside of the chassis.

i believe the copper tube is 28mm? , but if you use the pre soldered yorkshire fittings they add nearly 4mm as you've got the thickness of the copper + the groove that the solder is in.

On my straight lengths ,I Cut a straight yorkshire fitting in half and soldered one half onto each end to give the right diameter and a raised ridge for the hose to grip onto when clamped.

Not that pretty but , fits in with the Locost ethos!!!!!
