Is there any simpleway of identifying the type of camshafts in a Zetec engine.I have installed a 1.8 but not sure what one of three it could be. i.e
105,115 or 130. need the info for ignition mapping and if it is the lesser a possible upgrade.

Ps Cant read the engine No to find out
What you need to do is identify the parity ring configuration, which are the cast rings between the journals on the camshaft. These identify the part
number which relates back to the power output.
If you want to send a pic i can identify them for you? (i work for Fords remanufacturer and have access to this data!)

Steve,
unfortunately, the pics don't give the detail i would need.
The identification comes about from a 5 character code, taken from the front of the camshaft.
1 = cast ring present
0 = no cast ring
a possible code would be 00101.
The positions of the cast rings, starting from the front of the engine are:
between 1st and 2nd journal
2 between 3rd and 4th
2 between 4th and 5th
If you can note the configuration, i can then find out the cam pt no.

Where are the numbers on the Cam or the housing, Cant seem to see them

theres no numbers, the presence of a ring or not determines the code. The rings are part of the casting.

Passenger = Exhaust = 928M-6A269-GA
Driver = Inlet = 928M-6A266-GG
Service engine part number 928M-6006-KA
fitted in Escort and Orion (same as in my daily runner!!)
Legal code (part of engine number on side of the block = RDA
Any other info, just drop me a line!!
