I know I am being stupid with this, as its not an uncommon part! I have a zetec, and I need a new thermostat housing, but I can only seem to find
one's without the threaded bosses for the coolant sensors in it. Can anyone point me in the right direction as I have already ordered ones thats
wrong!
THank you in advance
Just fit a pipe next to housing with temp sensor in it
A part number would help loads,
but is it something like this or not?
Ford B-Max 1.6 THERMOSTAT HOUSING 7M5G-8K556-AC
Try Finis 1321115

I had the same problem when mine started leaking, even tried the E-bay one but it doesn't have the screw in thread for the sensor. I ended up getting mine from a scrappy but they are a bit rare now and they could still leak. As mentioned the other way is to get one of the ebay ones and a housing to screw the sensor into in the water line.
I had a zetec one with the threaded insert - sold it to a chap on here - replaced with an alternate water rail and this
hose_sensor
it was made by turning a collar and tapping M10, dropping the aluminium tube in the freezer and the collar in the oven. No leaks so far.
Mk1 Focus where all blacktops.
I Will be amazed of you find a new one as the last of the silvertops are now twenty years old.
For a s/h one you are looking at fiest/orion/escort or mk1 mondeo.
I had the same issue so had to buy second hand ones. But I've ordered a sensor adaptor for the pipework so I can buy new and cheap ones.
I've seen people tap the non hole ones too but I wouldn't do that.
Good luck
Thanks all! That is strange they have seemingly discontinued the threaded ones, as plenty of cars had them and they do fail! Annoyingly I could have
fixed mine, but I threw it away as I assumed a new one was easy to get before I found out there was two types!
I wanted to try and not have lots of adapter plates, but I guess ill have to go that route
thanks again
Look for finis 1054291 , it has 2 screw fit temp sensor bosses, however is not a complete kit, just a bare housing and is ~£130.
Dave
For my Acewell sensor I just drilled and tapped a hole in the housing body.
The Ford part is actually £130 as well but mine is so close to the chassis if I hit a bump too hard I damage mine so I don't buy new.
