Turbo BEC owners and builders!
james h - 13/4/17 at 04:09 PM

I'm doing a project on turbo bike-engined cars, and am trying to find any existing data.

If you have/had/are building a turbo BEC could you please give me an idea of the following:

- Engine
- Power and/or torque
- Boost pressure
- Compression ratio
- Turbo used
- Charge temps (if available)

Feel free to throw in any other specs you might have (e.g timing, air-fuel ratio), anything is relevant for me!

Many thanks

James

P.S. For those interested, my project is using Ricardo WAVE software to measure the effect of changing inlet plenum dimensions upon performance.
I'm creating a virtual engine model, and I need to correlate roughly with real world performance after I run the simulations.
I'm only looking at simple inlet manifolds at the moment (i.e. log style, with different inlet entry points and volumes), I'll share on here when I'm done!

201hp, 117 torques @ 7psi, more stuff on tempreture etc on the graph.

918 fireblade on megasquirt, Aerocharger ceramic ball turbo.

Throttle bodies on inlet, tubular exhaust to turbo, charge temp rises about 5 degrees C on the road when gunning it, decent sized intercooler.

Just fitted a procharger to a Hayabusa motor, bit tame at 10psi but on boost from 3000rpm, only just finished going on rollers after Easter.

Have a look at hole shot racing and tts websites, lots of info on turbo and supercharged bike engines.

I definitely will, thanks for that info!

Cheers Jon and Mark, good stuff.

Keep it coming!
