I'm finally getting round to putting my pinto back together
I've got a crank scraper to fit (might as well) but whats the best way to seal it up ?
bottom end built :D
I've seen a few folk recommending an RTV silicon sealant - but which one is best and whats the best way to use it ?
I've used this stuff before on the the zetec blacktop - I'm assuming it would do the job...

I've not used a sealant before for a sump. When I rebuilt a Pinto for my Indy I used the gasket that came in the bottom end gasket set, which worked fine.
I used this around the outside of my gasket as previously used to leak. Just incase the oil got past the gasket & it worked a treat, bone dry this
time round

If so. are you fitting the 'heavy duty' gasket set or the standard one ?
