I've got a 2.0l Ford Sierra OHC injection engine and a type N-gearbox in mine Seven. But there is no brace between teh engine and gearbox.

Is it nessesary to have a brace between the engine and gearbox?
At witch site of te engine is it normaly placed? Maybe a picture can help.

Thanks

It's on the opposite side to the starter from one of the bottom bellhousing bolts to the block. My nephew has a 1.8cvh Sierra which doesn't have one on and it does slacken its bellhousing bolts off occasionally causing clutch problems. He should loctite the bolts but can't be @rsed. It's just a piece of bar about 18x4mm, scan here. Rescued attachment brace.jpg

Thanks!

The sump I use has a extra box added to the side to restore lost oil capacity after reducing the height. Now there i've got no place for the brace, hmmmm
