Who's made themselves an alternative to the expensive off the shelf options?

Looking at the original item on the engine i was thinking it would be possible to cut the main inlet off, re attach it closer to the flange. Then cut the end off the housing and weld an end plate on. I havent got alu welding facilities but i have got a. pack of those alum braising rods.

Could be an interesting experiment.

No need to go to all that effort and expense.

Just build using standard silicon hoses and aluminum tube with bead on, here's mine

Thanks for the photos. Pipe routing I can do like you guys, but you both appear to have a lot more room between the back of the engine and bulkhead. At the moment I still have the pinto in, but I believe the replacement bell housing is the same length, currently there is 70mm between the back of the engine and the bulkhead. Difficult to tell whether they will clash, but it looks close!

Hi Dave

It would be great if you could post photos - I have the Dunnell kit, but it won't fit around my new enlarged footwell and x-member, so I've got to get inventive.

Needless to say, I'm also thinking of a composite solution.I do have some high temperature resin that's good for 180C, which should do it for the engine.
