During mapping of my engine, my old radiator sprung a leak. I have a VW Polo radiator witch I bought without having the right measures.
When I now want to install it, it is way to wide.
This is the cheapo version with plastic ends/tanks.
Question: Is it possible to take off the plastic end, cut the radiator core and get it back together without leaks? Any links or tips on this?
My alternative is to get an custom alu radiator, which I at the moment don't want to do...
There are several different versions of the polo radiator with different core sizes, the usual one is something like 380mm iirc

You can take the sides off..
I changed the sides on my polo radiator ..
I used a golf gti sides with rad fan with 2 speed switch...
I bought a polo radiator took off the sides & also bought a spare core no sides..
(still on the shelf in case of mine getting busted)

Old style Mini Cooper side mounted rad is the smallest rad you will find with decent heat transfer area.
early merc 190 e radiator are cheep and easy to fit
