Hi All,
I need to sort an exhaust manifold for my duratec. I'm changing the engine in my westy from a pinto this winter.
Any pointers as to the best (most cost effective) place to have one fabricated?
I guess the other alternative is to find one that fits under the bonnet and then just have a pipe fabricated to take the exhaust out of the side to
the silencer?
Cheers

When I did mine I got the pinto headers 'adapted' to fit the duratec - I used http://www.paulgooderham.co.uk/ who isn't that far from you either.
I used the RWD stuff for bellhousing, flywheel and clutch. The flywheel was Pinto and so was the clutch, using a racing pressure plate (cable operated). To be honest the racing pressure plate was overkill and stiff to push, so unless the engine is highly tuned I'd stick with the normal one.
Most use the ST150 standard flywheel.
Pinto HD Friction plate and an early Zetec or RS Turbo pressure plate.
I used a Titan motorsport bell housing with a Titan SAAB release bearing and cylinder.
Also make sure you put a bolt in the pocket at the rear of the bell housing it will stop the layshaft of the type 9 falling out as pic below.

Don't know the exact weight but its quite skinny.
I had a full exhaust custom made complete with cat. It was not cheap at £1050 but it does look good!!

That's interesting. How heavy is the st150 flywheel?
Unfortunately I need to stick with a cable clutch as my top mounted pedals only have a cable option.
Thanks for the bolt tip.
RWD have been known not to fit it or send it.
Got my exhaust from Quantum sports cars cost £600, also Kit spares direct do one of rthe Zero may be worth a look.

RWD forgot to put the bolt in mine and I had to pull the bloody engine back out.
I got my manifold from Quantum, it is in stainless and due to it being a cancelled order I paid about £250.
Just found this on ebay thought you maybe interested item no 121188240840
He's actuall got three of them and some silencers and collectors view his other stuff.

I also have a standard ST150 flywheel available....Pm me on WSCC if you want more info
