small header tank
cliftyhanger - 1/12/12 at 05:53 PM

I need to find a small header tank for my car. I have a golf/polo one, but too wide. I did have a corsa one, that has disappeared into a black hole, but may be the right size from memory. But the clio ones look pretty narrow, and have the pipes pointing in an OK direction with none requiring blanking like the corsa. Any idea on the actual clio size, or indeed other suggestions. This is on a zetec/std thermostat housing /polo rad setup....

Hi
We have a polo rad & a clio header & it works fine
But we do have an R1 bike engine, not sure if that would make any difference
Good luck

The Rover 25/200 tank is about the most compact you will find, n.b. not 400/45 tank.

Example ebay item ROVER 25 45 200 and MG ZR coolant EXPANSION / HEADER TANK

I had a similar problem decided the shape of the Ford ST170 header had certain advantages.

see example ebay item, 130809919159

I can supply dimensions if it helps

The ford one is far too wide for my application, (but does look shallow, so I see where you are coming from)

The rover one looks interesting....I will have to find some more pics to get the pipe positions and so on.

Any more suggestions are VERY welcome (before I go mad looking at ebay pics)

The rover one is good, dunpy and easy to mount.

Hi Clive
Unfortunately the car is not with me at the moment so cannot give
you dimensions, but here's a picture which may help.

Got ours from breakers in Crawley only a few £ , but make sure you get its cap.
the one in this picture is not the right cap,
should be black quite a deep cap

Hi
this is the correct cap, we are using now, the one shown in the previous picture
didn't have the right pressure.

Hmm, bigger in the fitted photo. As in by itself it appears smaller, if you follow my drift.

Having looked at loads, I reckon the corsa is teh best bet, so far......
