I'm Timo and new to the locost scene. I'm currently in the planning state of my locost.
The first step is already taken and that was winning the August Raffle at Darren's Company
This is the car thats being build up in my head so far:
GTS de Dion chassis with sierra diff and running gear.
Alfa Romeo 24valve 3Liter V6 engine
Alfa Romeo 5speed gearbox from Alfa Sei
Does anyone know some nice URL's of other projects that use Alfa Romeo engine's??
The only one i can find is the DAX Stephan Rush and he is using the exact same setup
Any ideas on how to connect the Alfa gearbox to the Ford diff a welcome to..

Mating the Alfa engine to Ford bits are mentioned on page 46 of July 2004 Which Kit Car Magazine. Only a little bit though, nothing major.

Yeah,
The gearbox is great. It's actualy a ZF build unit with the first gear down left I think.
The same box was used in the Maserati BiTurbo for a wile, but with a different bellhousing.
The Alfa Sei isn't that hard to get here in Holland. It even has a de Dion setup with the disc brakes attatched to the diff, but i will not be
using that. (See attachment)
I'm planning on using a 24v engine from an Alfa 164 but haven't decited an carbs or injection yet.
@Mikey: I'm a real Alfisti and think the Alfa 75 (milano) is the last real Alfa ever build. But still the 156 is a really nice car. I like the
sportwagon even better. Wished they switched back to front engine real wheel drive again. (Like Alfa's where meant to be)

The alfa V6 my sister had sounded WONDERFUL. Mating prop is easy, either get a prop made with a ford end and an alfa end (you'll have to get a
prop made /altered anyway) or turn up an adapter to go on the diff flange. Sounds like you're well away!

Mena, that rear end looks perfect for a locost, just loose the single trailing arms replace with standard twin, hard mount the diff, you could even keep the watts linkage with a bit of thought
Well, i could use the Alfa diff with the de Dion setup from the GTS kit, but i think it's a bit long.
I have to do some measuring but i was thinking to put the engine in way back. And mounting the diff directly to the gearbox. But for now i'll
propably use a sierra diff (much easier).
