Duratec hydraulic clutch

Hi all

Just a quick warning to guys fitting a Duratec hydraulic clutch using the mondeo v6 Slave cylinder.

I know there are at least a couple of guys on here with a similar setup to me.

I fitted my engine a couple of months ago, but when I bled the clutch there was a small leak coming from the bottom of the bellhousing.

It wasnt a massive leak and the clutch was engaging and disengaging fine.

I rang raceline and they adviced there will likely be a small leak after bleeding since some fluid will escape from the bottom of the bleed nipple and this is what the small groove in the face of the bellhousing at the bottom is for...too allow some fluid to escape whilst bleeding.

They also advised that when I installed their clutch kit that I shoud have made sure there was a small gap between the nut on the pipe and the top face of the slave cylinder, and that 5 times out of 10 they have to file away some of the casing where the pipe goes in.....otherwise it wont actually be seated fully. (nice of them to tell me now )

Decided to take the engine back out before I got too far with wiring and that and Im glad I did, since the problem raceline described was exactly what i was having.

so took the slave cyclinder off, filed away the top and refitted......engine back in....bled the clutch....and so far no leaks at all.....not even a drop.

Hope this saves anyone from the same hassle in the future.
