How can i tell a 2.0 zetec block from an 18CVH block. I have just found out through a pm that the CVH and xetec can interchange parts. and i got this engine in a kit project purchase the owner was adamant it was a 2.0 litre, i told him no it has to be 1.8 ford never did a 2.0 cvh, now these hybrid motors? he could be right. How can i tell physically what engine it actually is.
what head is it, i believe its normal to use the Zetec head on the CVH block. not the other way around, but i could be wrong.

CVH head on zetec block so the block you will have will be a 2 litre zetec. It will require some work the oilways I believe. We did a conveversion on a RS Escort series 2 but opted to fit the full 2 litre zetec inc head oh and the mondeo MTX75 box. Currently running it in at around 260bhp. It goes loke a scalded cat
See I was wrong now I know.
Left hand/exhaust side of the block shows engine capacity, 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0 and on the flange engine type and number.
