Silvertop Sump shortening - Advice
wombat - 28/1/12 at 11:56 AM

Hi, got my sump off (98 2.0 Zetec), have 8mm ali plate and someone to weld it foBr free.

So what depth does it need to be ?

Picture with ''cut here'' would be good.

Alternatively anyone got one going cheap ?

I shortened mine to the same level as the bottom of the bell housing ( 150 mm ) at the rear and - 10 mm at the front, tread plate used with the tread on the outside to help cooling.

No pic's but you can always pop round to look. My early sump had a small box shape at the rear which has been drilled and included in the sump for a bit of extra capacity.
