Hello all
Just stripped my engine and found some items that should be a 1300 gt engine but could not be
please read below
valves are 110.6 long have been told that by a valve suppler that a 1300 gt engine that they should be 109mm long

according to locost regs thet should be 110.6 long

also piston tops on a gt engine are different to std 1300 see pic out of haynes manual

My pistons are the ones on the left

Also what other differances are there between a normal 1300 and a 1300Gt engine

Can someone please clarify

The only outside difference was a twin choke carb and a better cast exhaust.
With the standard piston having large valve cut outs and the GT piston not having them I also assume the GT had a semi combustion chamber in the head not the flat head as standard.

"GT" doesn't really tell you much, there were several different specification for the 1300GT depending on whether it was in the Cortina, Escort or Capri and it even changed by year.

It should have the better inlet manifold and twin choke Weber and possibly a tubular exhaust manifold, but the cam and head spec. varies. An early 1300GT will have a shallow combustion chamber in the head, the latter ones (711M block) have a flat head and cut outs in the piston.

Yes it has a twin choke
it's a 711 block
and it has a flat cylinder head and cutouts on the pistons

Thanks
