Hi Alan
set up as follows -

jets -132
needles - FLTV50 - set e clips on 2nd groove from top
DJ half shim spacers not used
Pilots 2 3/4 turns out from full in
Heavy duty lift springs installed
Air correctors blocked
This assumes standard blade fuel pump and half decent pipe
Any queries call me on 01449 736633
best regards
Andy

hi Andy and thanks for the info.. TBH I know near to nothing about these engines just abour cars lol...

here is what I've got !!!!

Description
Description

top left bag (DJ122)
bottom left bag (DJ118)
top right bag (DJ116)
bottom right bag (DJ120)

also have needles stamped with J5DA

the springs u can see are what I would beleive to be the standard ones from the blade carbs

The guy who I bought the carbs off said that the carbs had the needles aleady fitted so I presume there will me another set of jets, needles and springs in that set of carbs.. havent had them apaprt yet to investigate..

just after a little bit info on what each parts doing to set my mind at work..

Hope thats not too much bother..

Cheers Alan

need help.. me and my stupid self have put 122 jets in with needles e-clip on the 3rd groove..

put the whole thing back together and now the car is just spluttering its way up the rev range !!

when I take the sausage filter off I notive that only one of the carbs is letting out excessive fuel thru the slider needle thing when the engine is idling

Is anyone near morpeth in northumberland that knows a thing or 2 about bike engines that I could ask to see ???

cheers Alan

Definately needs to run on the set up as in my previous post - 122 jets will be way lean and the difference will be like night and day. The carbs react massively to needle position and if you lift the e clip half a groove the difference is immediately noticeable. The problem you have is the kit you have is for a bike which contains none of the jets necessary for car application. In the DJ instructions it will probably tell you to drill the slide lift hole - for gods sake dont do this, for car application we need to slow everything down hence the heavy duty lift springs and blocking the air correctors.
Give me a call at the unit on Saturday and I will talk you through the process
