I have modified the rocker cover for my Pinto moving the oil cap to the rear as I want to use the ported cap to connect the catch tank and there
ain't the room with it on top.
I have read on some threads on here that people have been fitting baffles behind the filler to prevent excess splash out of the filler neck, but the
trouble is, there is not really enough room for that on mine because I have put the new filler neck quite low as below:
Rocker-1
Rocker-2
But I don't think there should be a problem with oil splash as the cam end plate should prevent most of it.
I would appreciate your thoughts please guys.
Thanks.

My guess is it will be ok have you got a photo of it from the side ? how much does it slope ?
A bit of metal mesh should stop any oil being thrown out. The sort of mesh that look like one of those aluminium pan scourers.
I suppose I could braze a small piece of mesh inside the cover over the hole (fine strainer mesh I mean), there is enough clearance to do that. There
is already some wire-wool type mesh in the filler cap.

The pinto vented cap is a simple one with only 1 outlet, yours looks like a CVH one.
I use a standard cap blocked off and fitted a vent tube in the body of the rocker cover a bit lower than you modified filler neck.
More than one way to skin a cat.

Thanks snapper, didn't realise that I had the wrong cap Hey ho, I suppose I've done the job now so I'l just block off 2 of the
outlets.
I assume I am right in thinking that one pipe for the catch tank goes to the cap and the other goes to the vent in the engine block under the
manifold?
Cheers.
