Just thought I'd post up some progress on my winter mods.
So far I have had to have the engine out to sort leaking front and rear crankshaft seals poorly fitted when the engine was rebuilt by the original
builder and also to replace the oil pump which had score marks on the pump parts so rather than risk it I replaced it. I have also done a conversion
from Griffin power systems inlet to throttle bodies and today I have been trial fitting the airbox base plate I made so I can get a Pipercross airbox
to fit under the bonnet.

It is not finished yet I need to mount the base plate properly and then source/make some inlet trumpets.
That airbox base plate looks great!

Thats just what ill be making in the next couple of weeks, looks good. Did you decide it was better to have the filter at the front than the back then? I thought it would be better feeding the fatter end of the airbox, but theres more room for the filter at the front and it probably gets cooler air there.
The filter is in the inlet to the airbox. The rubber part you can see on the intake is part of the filter. I went for a right hand entry airbox so I didn't have to run a large bore inlet pipe from the back of the engine bay forwards into the nose. I might also fit a NACA duct to the nose but I need to see if I can get the inlet pipe to infront of the rad first.

Can I ask for a picture of your mould please? I'm very interested in your neat solution..

I haven't got a picture of the mould and I had to destroy it to get the fiberglass off.
I made it from a piece of wood Which I cut to a wedge shape then rounded the ends off. I then screwed this to a piece of melamine covered chip board.
I used P38 car body filler to fill/smooth the wood then coated it in release agent.
