Anything less than 4" is a worry because that is the legal permitted height of speed bumps

80mm for me- no problems but I do go slow over s/bumps

My bell housings the lowest part of mine at aroung 70mm.Built a skid for it, but its not bottomed out even after being slightly airbourn. I avoid speed bumps like the plague tho!

Mine was about 3" which was fine until I hit a raised manhole when the road surface was being removed. Cue bent chassis, broken engine mounts, ripped sump, etc.
Definitely going for a shallow winged sump with the current build.
This chap will probably do mine.

1.5"

2.75 inches - but not 'fully loaded' yet! Rescued attachment ground clearance 2.75in.jpg

Duncan have you set the ride height yet?
by that i mean the body side to floor if i remember right 4.5 at the front and 5.5 at the rear
I have just found this photo in your archives and the engine /gear box is no lower below the chassis then mine

Hi if you cut 2 ins /50mm of the bottom of the sump thats about 12mm more then you needed to .
That makes the bottom of the sump higher them the gear box / fly wheel housing

And welcome to the mad house
