My next job! Any suggestions where to get some wrap at a decent price?
Stu
if you wait for mx5nutz to come back up from it's current server death, there's a guy on there selling 100ft rolls with ties for £20
his uncle's company make it apparently.
tom
ooh, i'll have some of that myself
i bought some last year, and its cheap cosmetic crap. far too thin to do anything properly
i've not seen any of the wrap from this guy but apparently a fair few people have had some so far.
i'll try chase up some reviews once the forum's back up and let you know
tom
i baught some off ebay for about 20 quid and got the ties, 3mm thick - its really good stuff you should try there
I got some from Merlin. Not so eye wateringly expensive and I trust them (always had good service too).

Whats the benefit of runnignt his stuff on a BEC (r1)
I want some black stuff but for looks currently lol!
I got some of ebay being sold as ceramic heat wrap.
- Very simular to the glass stuff ive seen but thicker and a slightly rougher weave. Stuggling to find a sensable price for ties however so resorted
to just use some mig wire.
I nearly bought a set of eight that seemed at a sensable price but right at the last minute noticed there where actaully 8" ties not 8. Suddently
they where £4 each not £4 for 2*4 tubes!

Be carefull with the ties aswell,. the ones like stainless cable ties are crap. I junked mine and used stainless jubilee clips.
My wrap came from ebay cheap and quite good stuff. In black aswell.
I bought the stuff Fozzie recommended me. Bought for about £15 IIRC from Demon Tweaks.
It's important to get the good stuff that goes with the correct thermal spray.
I used stainless lock wire to tie it in place.
Cheers,
James
Thermal spray?
Well I'm remembering back 4/5 years so might be best to ask Fozzie as it was her that recommended it to me.
But I *think* this looks like the right stuff:
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=DEI010301
Although I was under the impression it was to help with the 'heat wrapping' rather than just to protect the heat wrapping as this
description suggests.
Cheers,
James
