I have Begun!
Finally bit the bullet, and started the turbo install.
TURBO'D!!!
I need some advice on where to put the oil return pipe (Normally goes into the block above the sump on the turbo engine) and some help with hoses
etc...
Oh, and one other thing. The Dump valve that i need to connect!
Anyone able to offer some help here please? I didnt see this installed in any great detail, and the turbo spins with a satisfying whizz when i start
it up, though its a tad loud with no pipes or muffler!
Weeeee!
I can't offer any advice, but I will come over and drool on it
Ok, progress is a little slow this week (for obvious reasons for those that know!) but i plan to get hold of a 5/8" Tee over the weekend, and get
the oil pipes plumbed in. Shouldnt take long to put hte air hoses on, just need some time and persuasion to hit the cold Garage!
I need an oil heater for the garage really.
om the vauxhall 16v turbos that I play with there is a convenient flat bit of engine block on the non turbo ones where they drill and tap on the turbo blocks for the oil drain, so we do likewise and drill and tap it 3/8" bsp and loctite a 3/8" bsp hose tail into the block just above the sump line.
Same with Renault. The turbo engine has a convenient return ferrule where a piece of rubber hose joins it to the turbo oil return.
I wanted to avoid drilling the block until i know it works. Once i do that, it will all come off for cleaning, painting, and a bit more internal
work, drilling, etc.

The turbo air hoses are all plumbed in, and at 22:30 (neighbours love me) i started it up like an excited school boy!
Jesus does it sound fruity and responsive! Just need to get an exhaust on it next, and fit the oil supply problem, but that shouldnt take much.
