This engine (known as an sr20det) is normally found in a nissan 200sx, and this engine is putting out 321bhp the only mods needed to reach this
level of horsepower is bigger injectors(running 760cc), the stainless manifold, 3" exhaust and upgraded wastegate actuator, the limiting factor
is the standard turbo, but it should make my car shift a bit.
First job is to give it a propper good clean, its mucky.
Will keep this updated as i get on with the change from one good engine to a mental one

If it is still running the original turbo, then it really is being pushed to its limit. If its running bigger injectors, then it will need some kind of mapping, either some basic piggyback device like an Apexi Safc, or a replacement Ecu, and it really needs the Maf sensor swapping for a unit from the Z32 300zx turbo, which will also need some mapping changes, as the standard one is at its limit around that power level. Should be scary quick in a lightweight kitcar, as my old 200sx really went with 300bhp, and they are 1250kg

Ooh just noticed its got the winged sump on it.
It doesnt say SR20 on the front of it, which normally means it is a cheaper copy. Does it say Greddy on the underside? if not then it is definately
one of the copies. Just keep your eye on it that it doesnt start to go porous, and leak

I would think long an hard before usng a solid clutch.
With a lightweight car the chances of trans damage is small, but it could be very harsh making the car horrible to drive.

it is a tall engine, its 3-4 cm taller than the xe im removing but should clear my bonnet,
got to love the room in the vientos
the engine and box and apexi power fc ecu and apexi boost controler and 255L fuel pump and goodridge braided lines and alloy bulkhead fittings other
bits and pieces cost just over 2k which is cheap for 321bhp.
I hope to have it running and in the car for around 2.5 - 3k and by march.
The torque this engine puts out means that a paddle clutch is needed, i may change it for a spring one but it came with the engine so will use it and
see what it is like.

You think that oil filter posistion is bad, a rev1 or 2 3sge/ 3sgte has the filter upside down!

Certainly do have to love an all ally engine!
In response to a question you asked the other day, I plan on running 13" rims all round eventually with 195 tyres on the front and 235 on the
back. So 6" fronts rims and 7" rears. But thats another upgrade when money allows.

Ive been running mine with basic mods and a H-dev stage one chip and its allot of fun! I thing ill up it to stage 2 over the winter.
thought you might like these pics. i moved some of the diaganal bars arround to clear the manifolds, i also made my tunnel wider but mines a Luego
Velocity chassis.
ive got loads of others if you need them.

just offered up the gearbox over the weekend, its a big bugger and have had to cut a couple bits out of the trans tunnel.

The two nuts that stick out on either side of the gearbox were hitting on the uprights on the trans tunnel and the only job they do is to hold a
spring to center the gearlever

It looks as though i will be able to keep the sump above the bottom chassis rail and have just enough room under the bonnet

As you can see the inlet and out are on opp sides so what you have to do is cut one of the end tanks off and flip it over, ive had the hose tales
modded a bit to give me a bit more room in the nose cone, oh and they are cheap to buy because no one wants them.

It has been going well, ive had quite a bit of holiday saved up so am taking it at the mo which is good.
Also its a bit easier taking an engine and box from a car that is allready rear wheel drive, that cuts out all the hastle of sorting out clutches and
flywheels etc...
