speedyxjs - 11/10/09 at 05:07 PM

After being able to pluck up enough courage to ask out the girl i like, and only see twice a year, i was feeling a bit low today so wasted a few hours in the garage doing this:

Before

After

Before fitting

After fitting

Its not perfect but its much better than before

Stuart_B - 11/10/09 at 05:09 PM

wow that is a good improve ment, so how did you get it to that state?

stuart

It's what alcohol was invented for, one of the two of you (or both - at the same time) need to drink some/lots.

Confused but excited. - 11/10/09 at 06:57 PM

You forgopt to add... and a shed load of elbow grease.

StevieB - 11/10/09 at 06:59 PM

I once spent about 18 months plucking up the courage to ask out my boss's secretary and ued every excuse in the book to get her to help me out with bits of project support work etc.

When I eventually asked her out she jumped at the chance, then changed her mind a couple of days later on the basis that it'd weird because we did so much work together. There's a bit of irony there...

So, the moral of the story is don't hang around because you'l only trip yourself up - she can only say yes or no and neither of those words will kill you.

This, a lot. Really hard.

Ask her, get it done with, stop polishing random bits of metal.

Nice work though

Actually polishing is a fair substitute....

Be old skool.
Pen and paper. Something rather comforting about a proper hand written letter.
Added bonus is that you take your time, write what you want and once posted thers no going back.

Just my 2p worth.

speedyxjs - 11/10/09 at 08:07 PM

Dont know where she lives either. She is a friend of a friend who i only see at my friends charity events (she is an amazing violinist).

Ivan - 11/10/09 at 08:37 PM

Take an old man's advice (turned 60 the other day ) - the only way you will ever get to take her out is to ask her - chances are she's hoping you will - if she says "yes" that's great - if she says "no" it's her loss and you get to choose someone else. Ask your friend for her contact details and write, phone or use whatever other form of communication you choose, but ASK HER.

A "no" doesn't say anything about you only her - all it says is that either she isn't able to go out with you or that she has bad taste in men

Remember your car can only take so much bling before it looks chav - so ask her soon otherwise you might ruin your car in the next year or two by overdoing things.

No, she may just appreciate that a 7 esque car should really weigh less than a ton and a half

Ask her, you know it makes sense!

Years ago - I had the same fancied a girl and couldn;t realy get the courage to ask her out...... ended up not and still think now what if.

Whats the worst that can happen - NO then your low for a day or too and end up polishing the rocker cover. Or YES and could have a bit of fun for a day or too (or longer).

If you hold out much longer you'll fall into the stalker category.

Get your friend of a friend to get in touch and get her number use the excuse that you've lost it. A slap in the face only hurts for a minute or too.

swanny - 12/10/09 at 08:48 AM

hang on lads....

i've had an idea.

she's a sensitive soul, heck she plays the violin and she plays her violin at charity gigs.

so.....

organise a charity event, ask your mate, "oh by the way whos that violin girls you get to play at your events...."

then get her number call her, chat etc.

A. you'll have her number
b. know where she lives too if you are a bit creative
c. you can have lots of nice chats on the phone prior to event, ask her advice about the event etc
d. (Most importantly) She'll think you're an equally caring soul for organising such an event and having a cause dear to to your heart.
e. arrange an after event drink/meal for all those that helped out/played violin. (!)

bingo excellent opp for lengthy, worthy chats over bottles of guilt free wine.

excellent opp for lines such as:

" in the end we're put on this earth to help one another...."

she'll be tuning your stradivarius before you know it.
