Hi,
Does any one have anygood piccies of how to dismantle a type 9 gear lever so I can modify it to a short shift - I have written instructions butam not sure what the bits are!!!

I did slightly different and just cut down the old gear stick approx 2 to 3 inches above the large shoulder. This I then used an angle grinder to reduce as best I could to 10 mm dia for the top inch then re-threaded with a 10mm die. Not really used in anger yet, but shorter travel means faster changes I hope.

I could not find anyway to remove the top section from the rubber without causing permanent damage so did it this way.

I did buy a spare off ebay just in case.

In best Blue Peter Stylee, here's one I did earlier. Was an old lever which I butchered. I dismantled all the bits to make it clearer but you just do the drifting bit.
