Seen a few pics of intercoolers in locosts/sevens where they are positioned atop the footwell area, just in front of the scuttle firewall with a scoop
in the bonnet to force cool air across them. If I did this I would have to find another way of plumbing the swirl pot (maybe moving it to the back)
and putting the battery somewhere else.
Anyone put them up the front with some ducting to bring cold air in from the nose cone?
I cannot help you with a picture, but i have seen pictures of the intercooler over the footwall and i find it a really bad position to have it as it
restricts the amount of airflow.
I would try to find another position if i was you.
The Dax's have the intercooler mounted high in the front, so basically they sit just under the bonnet/nosecone join if that makes any sense? Dont
have any pics as I dont have an IC fitted!
Another way to do it is V mount ala RX7 upgrades, basically turn the V 90' to the right, top line is radiator and bottom line is IC.
Or maybe a chargecooler would work? Extra expense though!

Do you know what rad and intercooler that car is fitted with?

My indy has a cosworth 4x4 intercooler modified to fir about 600mm
it is ducted from the nose cone you can see a carbon eff plastic below it as a seperator from rad to intercooler,
i have also purchased a carbon scoop to fit on the nose cone top to put more air in,

Simply mounted in front of the Polo rad. I added additional baffling to trap air behind the intercooler, to force it through the rad. The nose cone
opening sits just inside the edges of the baffling.

Right at the front - only fits with full bodywork
As you can see, without the rad fan in the way I have quite a bit of space infront of the rad, inside the nose. Whether I can get some huge pipes
between the rad and the nose I dont know at the mo, will have a look tomorrow.

Annoyingly the front of the chassis is just the wrong shape and the bottom of the rad has to be a long way forward so I can get a hose on the bottom
of the rad
