EVAP system and fuel injection V8 help.

First of many questions about fuel injection and Megasquirt.

Just preparing to convert my V8 to injection and megasuirt. I will be using the Thor manifold simply because..

1. I have one.
2. produces lots of low and mid range power.
3. I have one.

First Question is about the system labelled B. I believe its something to do with the EVAP system on a discovery. As far as I understand this , its to do with the pressure in the fuel tank and releasing fuel vapour into the manifold when the pressure is too much in the tank.

Question is – Can I simply do away with this on my install?

Long answer...EVAP isn't so much about venting pressure but more about not venting fuel EVAPoration gasses to atmosphere. The tank breather vents into a carbon canister (filled with carbon surprisingly) this canister then vents via the EVAP valve into the manifold (and then burnt in the engine). The ECU controls when it vents so as not to effect the running.

So short answer...Yes, scrap it!

Lets just hope we never have to deal with closed tank venting on kits!
