Carb coolant hose
LoMoss - 13/6/09 at 04:43 PM

Hi

Just fitted my twin webers. Can I block off the old coolant hose which went to the old carb or does it have to plumbed into the manifold.

Thanks

A few more details might be of help?

The engine is a xflow which had the down draft carb. There was a coolant supply to it and the coolant out was plumbed to the manifold.

The new manifold for the twin webers has the coolant to engine blocked off.

Not sure which way the coolant flows.

Thanks

Coolant hose from the inlet originally went to the heater and the from the heater to the elbow on the water pump. I kept the pipe as I have a heater but even without one I would keep it and fit a bleeder at the highest point. Makes filling the system so much quicker and easier without having to worry about air locks and overheating etc. Someone on ebay sells bleeders for about a fiver or you could use a plumbing fitting as I did

Its up and running and sounds good.

Now have a coolant leak from the inlet manifold. The threaded bung fitted was the wrong size and thread. Its approx 15mm in dia and a Hi-flow manifold.

Does anyone know what thread it is and what I could use.

Also, looks like the first few thread are damaged.

Elbows/straight connectors are available. Burtons sell them amongst others
