If an engine (V) is 24" high (just the engine not in chassis), and one was to use down draught carbs, how tall would the engine be and if it was an issue, what would be a good way of getting through IVA?
You could put the seats on stilts so you can see over it. That's one tall engine set up.

Out of curiosity, how tall is the average pinto?
PS 4000 posts!!!
I thought you had a straight 6? carbs are side daft or are you now going for the v12? and it would be about 2 1/2 foot tall once the air filters were
on, think the back of a ferrari

Wow, that does look tall
Might have to go side draught and have side bonnet scoops then.

Thanks Whippy
Iv just found out that the V12 is only 67.59 kg heavier than the S6 i have atm which is less than i originally thought. I think the hardest part will
be making it fit in the space availiable but i like a challenge
Do you think this will stick too far out of the bonnet?
does anyone know offhand the height from the bottom of the chassis rails to the rear top edge of the nosecone on the highline locost bodywork?
Cheers

So it'd be like having a 10 stone 9lb passenger in your car all the time...
Hi
Here is a Renault V6 in a Westfield. Cant recall the exact height of the engine without the carbs ( Porsche triples ) but the engine was under the
bonnet easily with a flat floor. Needed a periscope by the time the carbs and filters where on though.

There's a load of pictures of the engine in the chassis in my archive under the Westfield header.
Cheers Matt
V12 injection is fine, no taller than you already have and no harder to megasquirt.
The JAG injection is banked, cylinders grouped in three's 4 banks banks fired in pairs with no regard to engine position.
Big distributor, single coil.
Really really heavy, I have pulled out of an XJ12, not worth rebuilding as the costs would be huge, get an rotten car and strip.
