i use an R1 can on my zetec powered six as i find i quieter and a cheaper option than a tiger can. It also gives the same power (BHP) and gives better
torque. I am concerned that the exhaust gases including any oil, is pointing straight at the rear tyre. i am worried this might be a bit foolish. has
anyone fitted a 45deg. angle pipe as a deflector, or am i worrying about nothing?
Ed
Ed - I thought the R1 can had a 45 degree angle on it? I have a website somewhere where you can buy can ends of various angles - I'll have a
look.
Dan
ive got the same setup, mine has an angled outlet.
if your worried, get a chrome tail piece
god...my dog has just dropped one,if im not back later,i,m dead
Ring these guys. Site is being done up, but the phone number is there. Seem to remember they had an end that matched the R1 can and that is was pretty
cheap.

cheers its got a stubby 45 end about 2" long but it needs another to get the clearance, am i right in thinking its titanium, if so might be
dificult to weld?
Ed
Depends on the year - the later ones are. Most of the light blue coloured ones are I think.
someone told me it could have a cat inside it, is this right?
Ed
before someone says it no not a real pussy cat!
Ed
I stand to be corrected but where they had them I think they were a seperate unit in front of the can.
I took off the end cap and removed the little stubby tailpipe cover. Then made a new tailpipe from a bit of the stainless inlet pipe which had a bend
in it already. Drilled and tapped the "real" end pipe and fixed it in place with 3 button heat bolts. It's been on there for 6-12
months so far with no problem.

looks like it does the job, is it 60mm tube?
