OT - O ring
The car's on the road so I'm back on other projects.
Does anyone know where I can get a square section O ring 1/8th inch section, 2.25 inches I.D.
It's for an internal seal in the fuel injection pump on the Bombardier engine for the Auster

Hav you tried the square o-ring shop?
seriously though, a very very long shot ... take a look at oil filters - it does sound like the sealing ring on those could be the right size ....
I should have one knocking around somewhere so can measure when I get home and if I remember.

Square section O rings are pretty difficult to find. Can you not use a round standard round section? The normal round O rings are designed to go into
a square housing.

It could also be worth giving the IWM at Duxford a call, see if you can get put through to the maintenance section - find out where they get their
o-rings and bits from.....
Cheers

Try giving Pirtec (Hydralic hose company a call ) they may have the square section rubber that you cut to your required radius and then supperglue
the ends together.
Edited to add I think its called 'O ring Cord'
If not let me know and a freind may have some on his VAN

Hi
Scary stuff !!!!!
Parts will be listed in the OEM's IPC or CMM. Sourcing unapproved parts will, if declared, void the C of A / ARC and if not possibly comprimise
the safety of the aircraft, crew and public.
Not advised.
