F1 "replica"
Came across this whilst surfing
Mclaren F1
Obviously made by someone who'd heard of the Mclaren, but never seen one!
Any idea what it's based on?
Cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

think this is a better replica, though they don't call it a replica at all, they don't even refer to the McLaren

It runs a honda transverse V6 engine and cost the builder into 6 figures to build.
I hope they mean in pence and not pounds,

I'd agree, it wouldn't take much to make that a pretty close replica.

I seen this car up for auction about 5 in years ago in Newcastle and by the pictures nothing has been done on it since.
The chassis is made from big steel box section and it had a v6 from a honda/rover 820, no glass and did not run.
It sold for about £1600, shame as the body was good, i have some pictures at home but these are on slides.

as said above, you dont spend over 6 figures and have a bloody rover v6 engine!
I suspect thats an old auction advert as it says the 240mph record is unbroken.
aye it is, apr 05

Oi!
I'll have you know that 2.7 Honda V6 is an absolute beaut of an engine. Best engine ever probably!
