My missus has been making the very same threat.

I wonder if any of them will actually ask.

(Slightly concerned because my mum asked my dad to marry her on a leap year, and she's been talking to my girlfriend...)

Just be glad you're not in Scotland, you can still get fined up there for saying no, anything from a kiss to the price of a silk dress or pair of gloves, IIRC. Down in England you still have to buy here a purple dress.

yep but our reasoning is that every four years on our official anniversary we do something special, for our first one for instance we plan to go and see the 2012 Olympics. the inbetween years we just go for a meal etc.

so far so good, she got up to go for work, asked me what time i would be home so i said around 8 as i was going to have a look at a motorbike lol, she wasnt happy about that, i might txt her later and ask if i can borrow from the joint bank account to buy it lol that should really upset her.

or i could be honest and tell her i'm just working late...
