Also the "swarfa" can be an ok snack (its sort of like a kebab wrapped in pita bread)

Ah tripoli ok thats where I was too. If you like fresh fish, goto this place called "il-hofra". It is by the coast. When you look at the
restaurants there should be fresh fish outside (catch of the day) you just choose what you like and how you'd like it cooked and they serve it
inside.
I had the best bar b qued baracuda I ever tasted there.
Then there is a restaurant/cafeteria close to the green square, its quite a neat place and I think belongs to one of the sons who's dad rules
the country or something. Anyway the food there is more european like and there is free wifi.
If you feel like venturing around the streets there is a really good greek restaurant a couple of streets behind a hotel called "el Kabir"
And if you have time, go visit their scrapyards, you may find some really good deals! They throw cars away for minor issues there.
Hope I could've been of some help

Yes, I am in the el-kebir as well,10th floor overlooking the port. I did not know about the free wifi, but will be testing this later tonight.
We go walking down from the hotel towards the green square and have a coffee and meal at the outside restaurant.
Been to the fresh fish place last year as well, but could not stand the smoke inside.....

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Interesting menu.
Is that because there isn't much wood in the desert?

Interesting, sound like you are in a simillar space to me! Billing or Mediation? Coding customising, installing or tuning work? Do you work for a
billing software vendor or is it the Op Co's own home brew? Who do you work for, SI or software vendor?

do they still serve the ultra spicy red paste for b'fast? Another thing I remember, if you have a day goto "suq it-telat" or
"suq tlieta" not sure what it was called, basically a huge market place with anything under the sun. I got some good tools from there. You
would need about 2 -3 days to see it all thou.

Hi Harvey.....yes in billing and do touch on mediation but that is mostly setup. As for the company, cover most of Africa....company sold three times
and now owned by Indian company....moved the base company to SA 3-4 years ago so there are only a few of us left in UK....
as for the red paste for breakfast in the morning, never touch it...I head for the mini wheatabix as I know they can't mess with it....I am
going out there again on Tuesday, just for 7 days....so I may get Friday / Saturday off and go looking around...I see there is a lot of building going
on round the corner of the harbour...lot more high rise hotels being built.....
