Murmansk men get it right.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/06/business_murmansk0s_gorgeous_garages/html/1.stm

" The men of Russia's Arctic city of Murmansk have an unlikely passion - as a woman living there explains: "Many men in Murmansk love escaping to their garages, which are often built far away from the apartment blocks where they live."

"The men spend a lot of time there, repairing their cars and talking politics or gossiping."

"When a car has been repaired they celebrate. It is a tradition to eat home-made pickles and drink vodka, so in most garages there is a good store of supplies."

"The garages are often furnished with old furniture, so after bad rows with their wives the men can come here to stay for a few days."

Conronkid - what ya talking about

I spent a while in Russia and I couldn't get enough of their women - although - I suppose after a while - nag, nag, nag!

Good ole' ruskies - they do know how to live! They call cars crashing 'kissing' and there's obviously no such thing as an MOT as so many dodgy cars on the road.

Women taxi drivers doing 60mph+ in sheet ice in a Lada! She's driving like Gronholm, sliding, catching, sliding... scary!

Never posted much about my holiday in Siberia last year, but suffice to say it was the best trip i have ever been on in every way, the most incredible place and people I have ever seeen and met!!

here are a few snaps:

firstly, expect your taxi bus (transit copy thing with a 2.5 16v 4 cyl petrol lada engine with gear driven cams!! ) to break down, I'm on the right trying to suss where the petrol was spraying out from!!

Then, when it's 35 degrees C, expect the odd storm, with golf ball hail, and REALLY beautiful clouds!!!

When you get into the mountains, the transport reflects the terrain, here's a typical Gornay Altaisk region bus:

and expect to see plenty of mental and occasionally fairly unpleasant crashes, here's a more pleasant one:

.........But when you get there the scenery is quite beautiful:

And provides great fun!
