Trip to John o Groats, where to see on the way??
Seeing as exams are all over, a few of us have decided to go on a small trip, and for some reason, John o Groats was decided. Is there anything worth
seeing on the way up? Bearing in mind we're a bunch of students, is there anything such as the geordie bat ((angel of the north), where
we'll stop off for comedy photos). thats worth seeing on the way up, as we're starting in leicestershire. Any suggestions appreciated!!

In very rough geographical order:
Falkirk Wheel
Doune hillclimb
Rest an be thankful (another famous old hillclimb venue)
Glencoe (stopping of at the clachaig for a pint or 2 - better at the weekend tho)
Ben Nevis
Parallel roads at Glen Roy
Commando monument at Spean Bridge
Loch ness (go and find Nessie, easier to do after a night in the pub though  )
Five sisters of Kintail (mountains not local slappers  )
Skye (okay slightly off route, but worth a visit )
Ullapool (take the long way round and visit Ullapool - good pubs  )
Corrieshalloch Gorge
Kylesku Bridge (if you are into bridges!)
Smoo cave
And then on to John O Groats not much to see there though 
Hows that for starters?

If you go to Skye and the west coast you get the best scenery in my opinion. If you do, Applecross is a must

Let's not forget the mysterious pubic triangle in Edinburgh. Busy by weekend cheap during the week!!! or so someone told me.

hadrians wall. if you are driving, thre is a long straight A-road that has big bumps, the sort that as you go over the apex, you cannot see the road
beneath, kinda spooky

Alnwick gardens (biggest treehouse in the UK, fountains and the 'poison' garden)
Alnwick castle if you're into castles
Banburgh castle (ditto)
Seahouses for some decent crab sandwiches and a pint.

Having ridden from JoG to Landsend on a Moped (don't ask) I would avoid the long treck up to the very north!
If I was me (which I am) and I were to advise you, (which I am), I'd travell up the East side, head west, and back down the West coast.
If you want views, There are plenty without heading into the deepset Highlands!
The Falkirk Wheel is a must and so is camping on the banks of Loch Ness!
