On a brighter note
What makes this site so great for you?
Theres been a lot of negativity and bickering recently, which is to a certain extent making some areas like a high school playground. I generally find
the comments quite amusing, and am glad to say I know others take it light heartedly as well.
So in light of all this silliness, lets have a happy thread . Post your ideas here about what makes this site stand out from the rest, in a positive
way:
1. You can always get a question answered within about 30mins of asking it, no matter what the topic!
2. Its a great way of meeting like minded people, and I think we forget how clever we all are for building our own cars in the first place, because
its our daily crew.
Do carry on

Had a question about radiators for my build this morning. After a quick search on this site I had my answer. Seems that 95% of the questions I have I
can get the answer for from this site without even posting a thread. The other 5% takes about two mins for a reply

I like it here 'cos the vast majority of people seem like minded and friendly. I could have built my car without the site, but it would have
taken a very lomng time and the end result would not have been anywhere near as good.
I also like the fact that due to the variety of people here, most any question on any topic can usually be answered.

1) It is an absolutely superb source of information. (I started my build because I knew nothing about cars and wanted to learn and building one seemed
to be the best way). I have learned so much on here.
2) The humour is brilliant - most of the time.
3) A great source of parts, without getting ripped off.
4) Almost total lack of childish bad language, name calling and stupid pointless flaming.
5) The banter.
6) Avatars

Interesting that the three people who said they like the avatars all don't have one - come on guys, sort it out (Edit: Unless they're
being blocked by my system)
On a related note, I like the fact that people appreciate that lots of us browse at work and therefore keep the avatars reasonable and put NWS on
posts that may cause trouble - very considerate.
Plus of course the goldmine of information and the extremely helpful people: like most others, I would have had a hard time building my car without
the help here.

Seems a good a time as any for a first post!
Been lingering for a while and will continue to do so, while gaining as much knowledge as possibe to help with a build of a locost type car as soon as
funds and SWMBO allow!
Theres a wealth of knowledge and some clever people here and i learn a lot of things whether I'll ever need them or not.
I may have the odd random post but otherwise I'll just sneak into the background building up my fountain of knowledge!

I agree with the above comments re knowledge, entertainment value etc.
No one has yet mentioned what I find one of the biggest plusses - the site helps me big time with motivation to push on with the build. You see that
other people have done it, so it IS possible, plus the positive comments when you post details of something you have done really buck me up.
Cheers

The reason this site is so great is because the MK build manual isnt! (Or wasnt!)
Compared to alot of other forums Ive been on there is alot less petty name calling and stupid arguing.
And if it wasnt for this site I would have built (and probably still be building) a Robin Hood!
