Its all hot air........
Winter playtime again, I am unable too duct the air from the radiator up and out the top, any reason why I shouldn't duct/deflect around 80% of
it away and out thru an hole in the side ? Not cut any holes yet as fitting new side panel, and yes the chassis will get a repaint.
Bit like this thin alloy plate ?

Don't know if the air blowing out on one side could affect the handling, but it might be 'safer' to duct out both sides with a ^
shaped baffle, and would look more symetrical (if that matters to you).

I'm not an airflow expert, but if you make it angled to one side, is there a danger either of the narrow end getting a bit hot, or restricting
the airflow through that side (RHS of the car)? Maybe do a v-shaped plate with the point of the V just behind the rad, then two smaller vents, one on
each side panel?
Also, is it me or is the top left rail in the top picture bent? In the second pic, it loks suspiciously like someone has bashed it with a hammer!

Thats where the front wheel got pushed into the rail, not pushed it back out yet, well spotted.

If it were me, I would do a ^ shape so the air flows evenly to each side.
Think how a sail on a boat works - doubt you will get anywhere near the same forces but it may affect the handling.
In mine, and I think on most other folks, the engine floor is not sealed so that is where the air leaves.

That'll be the old Isonblade then
Dax vent out the sides - looks good, but I would do both too.....
And if you get the underneath sealed you've get better airflow and handling (which I'm sure you knew already  )

Yup, you got the car in one, I think I will re visit the idea and go for chucking it out down both sides, as I was fitting just one new side panel i
was hoping too get away with just ducting out that side.......

You could make two vent panels as used on this, effectively, a double skin with a rear exit slot.
