Digital compact cameras

The definative answer to which is the best has just been decided on The Gadget Show.
The winner is..... The 6.1 mega pixel Fuji !
It spanked the 10 Mp Sony and the worst was the new 10 Mp Canon. It was better for speed of shot, low light level, action shots and resolution. the worst resolution of the three was the Canon. Go figure.

Are the 10 megapixel true megapixels though... So many camera now give a "virtual" megapixel count based upon interpolation... Which is basically pseudoscientific BS...

Takes the mic really. It's a bit like saying my engine has a capacity 8 litres, its just 7 of them are interpolated from the perfomance of my 1.1 litres for when I'm down the pub bragging about my 800Bhp...

Ok so his cam is a bit out of most peoples budget, but it certainly takes a good picture!

As an avid camera enthusiast with a fanancial restraint - I chose the Fuji F10 which is a true 6.1MP. It is a great point and shoot at a reasonable price. Its very quick and reliable.

I've now got a Canon digital SLR so I don't tend to use the F10 much. Although I would genuinely put my Olympus C2000 (2MP) against most of the new ones for actual CCD quality! My lad uses it for fun... at almost 7 years old it eats AA batteries (though I recharge) but the quality of the old camera is superb!

SWMBO has a Samsung Pro815. 8 Mega pixel but the lens is the film equivalent of 28-420mm. Lens is phenomenal, is classed as a bridge camera/SLR. I think its fab, her brother-in-law borrowed it to take photo's at our wedding.
