2ZZGE Engine Toyota Celica
Test drove a Celica GT today. Its really nice, a bit of fresh air from all those Type-R thingys. (Although the more of those, the more appealing it
will become to put them in kit cars). Different story.
Anyone recommend another car with its performance/mpg/looks??? (not type r)
For around 17000-19000
Anyone know of any tuning mods to get the most out of the 2ZZGE lump?

I had a Corolla with the VVTL-i engine in it.
It was a right laugh and quite quick once your at 6000-8000 RPM.
No torque low down and a totaly pig to drive in traffic. Not a car that can be driven smoothly, passengers thing you're a bad driver and keep
neraly stalling or a loon and keep wheel spinning.
Sold it after 9 months and now I have a Celica with the VVT-i engine. Much nicer!
There isn't that much in it peformance wise, 10-20 MPH on the top speed but there is 8ft.lbs difference on the torque so acceleration is almost
the same.
The final drive ratio is different so you need another gear change to do 62Mph with the VVT-i so on paper the acceleration time difference is
exagerated.
Yes, a VVTL-i in a Locost would be a hoot

Stunning looks. Just as well as a lot of people will get to look at it when you are broken down at the side of the road

Yeah i think jap is the way fwd. Whats that £18995? Alfa, whats the name? What kind of performance does it have. Looks are good but i think all the
money will be wasted on weight. Thats why i like the jap cars.
