i was looking into building one but got put off by the price, in the end it was going to cost £12k for a half decent one so i thought it would be
better spent on something more special. the 5exi seems to much like a poor mans elise.

They are supposed to be pretty good. Any 4cly K series or T series engine will fit including the 2.0 turbo. Rover 25 donors should be pretty cheap.
The kit price is more than your typical seven but then you get more car. I'd have one, except for the name.

My wife absolutely loves it so is on the shortlist if the locost ever gets completed.
However, when I first took at look a couple of years ago at Exeter was was none too impressed with the way the engine has been located (T series) so
the short driveshaft was running at a ludicrous angle. Basicly it would be like driving a normal car on full lock all the time. Hopefully the
situation was resolved or is at least better with the K-Series.
