yep, im more into it for memories from my youth (last year!). all my friends who played moved away, so now i just collect all the old novels and rule books. got quite a pile built up! the books are actually quite good, if you like reading. not played a real battle in 8 years now... maybe more. ah well. better things to play with now.

age of empires is a great game, surely you have played it too?! different to warhammer though, WH has no civilisation side, just war. age of empires is more about research and resources.

Joel,
I wondered if it was Warhammer from some of your Avatars- I recognised a couple worryingly enough. Didn't like to ask though!!!!

Used to be into it as a kid- but haven't really touched it in 10 years. Still hear about it though as a friend at work is really into it still.

I actually went into my local Games Workshop nearly a year ago and it had barely changed. Same type of gimboids as 'regulars' and same pushy staff. Only thing that had changed were the prices were even more inflated. You're now paying more for plastic figures than I was paying for metal! Okay, so that was 12 years ago but has inflation really had that much effect?
Bunch of tossers at GW really- exploiting kids with the constant need to change/upgrade armies/games whilst at the same time paying staff a pittance. I was offered a weeks work there once whilst staff were on holiday. For a 40 hour week they offered me 60quid! "Well, you get a good staff discount". Wicked!
Strangely enough I turned them down!

All I can say is thank God I gave it up when I did- it's an even more expensive hobby than this!

I havnt played a video game since sonic the hedgehog on a megadrive 10 years ago.

Might be great for some, but I see video games as a total waste of time and effort. As I did rubik cubes, puzzles and crosswords.

Unless I can see a worthwhile outcome for the expended effort, I cant be bothered.

Finishing a crossword, or scoring 560,189 on "megablaster 2 the revenge" has no interest to me.

Exercise for the mind.

That's why I do crosswords. Anyway it's fun making words up to fill the spaces . Favourite clue:- Marine animal, two words 5 letters and 3. Ships cat. Postmans round, how many letters? a bloody great bagful.
There's one for a B2 on there

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

you must have a strange mind cos I dont understand that.

It could however also apply to relations with the opposite sex

how many drinks / chat up attempts per bonk at the bar perhaps. But then i've been married 24 years and am not into pickup games either!

Mind excercise - a guy at work does puzzles, rarely finishes them. Thats what would do my head in. I like to see a clear plan and a decent chance of success - vid games and crosswords more often than not end in stalemate. Once ive spent 2 hrs trying to get Sonic to jump up a hill, im bored.
