sink brackets

got a butler sink living in the garage, been stood on its side for years, chipped, and quite rotten, but its finally going to go under the tap in the garage wall.

going to buy some lengths of steel tomorrow to make up some brackets to go on the wall, nothing special, just this sort of thing

bolted into the wall, sink sits on top. easy.

its unlikely to ever be filled with water, maybe just washing paint brushes, cleaning parts, that sort of thing, drain will just be a bucket underneath really.

what sort of steel box should i get? 2x2"? 2x1" wall thicknesses? 1mm? 1.5mm?

i'm thinking 2x1" with 1.5mm thickness. sound reasonable?

6mm flat strip? The inch tubes from a chassis would be fine.

very good point! i always forget exactly how much chassis tubes really have to do, and the weight they hold.

thats settled that then

Stand it on some concrete blocks or build a couple of brick piers, if it's anything like the one on our back garden it's a bit heavy.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
