This week's project - castle bed!
Following my defeat by the IVA man last week, decided it was time to do something a bit easier.
Built the grandson a bed a couple of years ago.....
Description
This time its the granddaughter's turn - she wanted a princess castle!
In true locost style - advertised for a 'Donor' (on 'freegle' - a cabin bed someone else had had enough of - and set about
adapting it - the drawers became steps, put another cupoard on, made a couple of MDF towers, painted and wallpapered to finish. Hope she likes it!

Description
I had to put wheels under the towers - they were a bit heavy for the hinges on their own!!

that looks really good!
Now can you start making me one that looks like a jet fighter?!
We gain knowledge faster than we do wisdom!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Nice job! Did something similar myself this year, only stupidly did it from scratch... ended up a major project!
From this:
to this:
to end up like this:
It has a wardrobe built into the end too This weighs a bloody ton! Under is a spare bed for princess sleepovers and the drawbridge is a desk etc.
Still needs a few finishing touches but mostly proud of the LED headboard for her reading light:
The "flagpole" lamp will have a flag shade when I get round to it
(sorry to hijack - just pleased someone else is as mad as me! BTW LOVE the car bed - was thinking of doing one for my son next year!)

Your built from scratch bed is very smart - like the headboard with 'daytime running lights' - my pics don't show the bits where
I've had to mend missing chunks of chipboard etc!
Looks like quite some workshop you've got there!
Yes, the car bed took me quite some time - made from scratch, it splits in half as the grandson's bedroom is in the loft (which is itself also
one of my 'past projects'. Took a fortnight to paint!
Thanks for all the appreciative comments, guys!

The first workshop is in our tech rooms at school - very handy for cutting the 8x4 18mm mdf. Weirdly since building it the school asked me if I wanted
to teach a few tech lessons as they were short, and I jumped at the chance. Been a learning curve for a science teacher I can tell you!
Not only that but they were going to scrap the band saw in the background as 2 of the blade guides are worn out - I offered to take it instead and
they said yes! (got to love the efficiency of PFI) Can't wait to get it fixed (about £30) and get it home - that will please the missus

They love the car - they're not impressed that I've crashed it though
