Do you have any form of extraction for the cooker?

If not isn't your microwave going to get full of steam and grease?

I would think that is going to cause no end of problems and possibly cause a fire risk.

Other than the charcoal filter on the vent fan of the micro there is no venting for either the range or the microwave. The fan blows the air out over top of my head like a recirculation mode. You can play with the blower if you want it to vent out through a wall, but our house does not have any duct work for it and I've lived there since 1989 with no issues. So I'm okay with it.

Your choice as its not me thats living in your house, but condensation inside the microwave will build up and well I wouldn't like to think what could happen.

Dont building regs specifically state that some form of extraction hood must be fitted to any hob/cooker?

I found this regarding the building codes for Florida.... I do know that building codes can vary greatly depending on where you are.

SECTION M1503 RANGE HOODS

M1503.1 General. Range hoods shall discharge to the outdoors through a single-wall duct. The duct serving the hood shall have a smooth interior surface, shall be air tight and shall be equipped with a backdraft damper. Ducts serving range hoods shall not terminate in an attic or crawl space or areas inside the building.

Exception: Where installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions, and where mechanical or natural ventilation is otherwise provided, listed and labeled ductless range hoods shall not be required to discharge to the outdoors.

Here is the link to the building code if anybody wants to verify my info.

No harm done, if I ever move to the UK I'll be sure to put in a vented range hood just for you.

Yep, the ceiling was dropped 12 inches when built so we pushed it back up to the height of the rest of the house. We also removed a peninsula of cabinets between the kitchen and dining room so now feels huge to the mrs and me.

We don't have a dog..... but we do have a cat..... and now that I think about it he is getting a bit on the large side.

Makes me wonder what we're feeding him.

My mom actually taught me to make those cookies when I was a kid. I make them every couple of weeks. Takes 10-15 minutes and they are delicious. Chocolate, peanut butter, oatmeal, sugar, milk, and butter. Can't keep my hands off them, and they can't keep off my belt line.
