my assessment of a 318i W reg after 4 years is its a very capable car, for whats basically a ford escort equivalent. Decent reliability, 35 mpg all
the time, corners on rails, hard wearing interior trim. Could do with more room in the rear, and the boot is a bit shallow.
The problem is price / performance.
BMW want ballistic money for a sensible engine. 25k pounds was needed 4 years ago to get a 170 hp 323, when you could get a ford with that spec for 5k
or so less.
My 23k budget got me a 0-60 in 10.4 secs slug mobile.
If it had more power, I would have loved it. This car was a bit like finding kylie is a bad shag.

Thoughts:
-Unlike Locosts, BMWs are very reliable, therefore plenty of time available for unimportant stuff like sex instead of tinkering with the car in the
garage / even building.
-Many BMW owners are posers and when asked how much sex they are having, they will give exaggerate figures, wait a minute, that'd be me,
where's my BMW then??
