My New Toy and toys together

I decided last month that as the Indy was getting close to being ready for IVA I would see about getting a towbar fitted to my Renault Scenic. I had quotes from £175 to £400 to get one fitted.

So a rethink later I decided to sell the Scenic and look for a tow car / play thing. I rang a mate if mine T'up north who is a offroad nut. It co-insided with his mate wanting to sell an Isuzu Trooper Bighorn 3.1 TD on a 95 plate. Imported in 2004 by my mates mate.

Electric everything, leather and new turbo 2 years ago. In fairness it wasn't / isn't perfect. Needed 4 new boots , grille paint was flaking and some offroad marks in obvious places i.e. visible, and the dirt!!!!! More mud inside and out then a farmers field.

I picked the beast up from Durham and drove it back to Kent last week. 300 miles without blinking. Incredibly comfy, quiet and quick too. AND I got and average 26 MPG at 3,000 RPM (indicated 76mph) type speeds.

I am well chuffed.

I have, this weekend cleaned it (or at least my friendly Polish Hand Car Wsh around the corner did inside and out), put 4 new boots on it (General Grabber AT2's), painted the grille and generally tidied it up and all for less then the money I sold the Scenic for, including buying it!!!

Heres a pic of my two toys together:

Just wanted to share.

Looks quality!

I really want a 4wd and as you've demonstrated, would make an excellent tow car for KC!

People around me drive like loons down the country lanes and it'd be great to have a elevated driving postion. I get almost bullied off the road in KC - would be great to seek revenge!

Its a great car and it has excellent manners on and off road.

I know what you mean about revenge. It does have presence and people look at it too.

I have noticed recently the cost of buying seems to be going up slightly. Until I try to sell it of course!!
