New Tin Top
Hi guys,
I'm hoping you can help. I've just picked up an 03 scenic rx4, a family car. It has less than 10k on the clock and has been regularly
serviced.
However I noticed today that when turning from lock to lock (stationary) that there is a noticeable 'clunk' about halfway through.
I'm interested if anyone has an idea as to what may cause this. I'm thinking bushes or ball joints. Either way I have a month warranty
so I'll be getting it checked out.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Donny.

I know. It's an ex-mobility car hence the mileage. Drives well just noticed the knocking noise on a roundabout. The car has more secret
compartments than the batmobile.

It's a renault - you have to expect problems particularly when they get up to that sort of mileage.
They do sometimes last till their second service though.

With that little mileage in 6 years...!
Could it be a spot on the rack where it's rusted together through lack of use and broken free again...?
Same goes for the other joints in the steering system if they've been sat still for so long.

Thanks guys,
I think the car has been used but only for very short runs. It did have its clutch replaced which indicates to me a certain style of driving.
Like I said I'll check the warranty conditions to be sure its covered. Otherwise it drives well. The other scenic I looked at at a
dealer's had a wire to unlock the bonnet and a very loud turbo whine. Didn't think that was normal.
We've had a Clio for years without trouble - and that's with it being semi-submerged in the Thames!
Cheers,
Donny
