Haven't been to Fintray since 1988. Am I still the 600 class record holder? (28.something which was quite quick back then, but the club was poor
at keeping notes of records).

FYI - The far away yellow westfield is a 1398cc bored busa, then the green zzr1400, then a 2009 1340cc busa and finally the orange bored out busa.
The green MNR and yellow 2009 busa westie boys were both in blade engine cars last year and I was competing against them (my car is still in pieces
this year though - oops) but those two were very quick in their blades. So much so they were either kicking at the heels of the bigger engines or even
winning events. In fact the yellow westie won the scottish sprinting championship in his first season. They have upgraded engines and so far are
generally finishing in top 3.
As for getting involved - easy as filling in MSA license form and getting medical and joining a club - GAC or ADMC for Aberdeenshire. Go for one of
the sprints or bigger hills (Doune is amazing!); Fintray is a little too short for a first go - will leave you a bit "was that it?".
Boyndie (ADMC website) is a brilliant event - social too!!

You may well be the 600cc record holder - but it is a long time since they ran a separate 600cc class at Fintray (not since it stopped being part of
the British Hillclimb Championship).

For an MSA Speed license (for Hillclimbs and Sprints) a medical is not required - you just have to fill in a section of the application form)

You can do it quickly. You can do it cheap. You can do it right. – Pick any two.

That means I needlessly spent £25 getting a medical last year, although looking at the competition license notes (note 26):
"An applicant 18 years of age or over applying for a Car, Truck or Kart (not Kart Clubman) Racing Competition Licence must pass a Medical
Examination by their General Practitioner (GP) before applying for their first licence following their 18th birthday. Thereafter they will be required
to complete an annual medical self declaration until the age of 45."
I took that to mean I required a medical as this was my first application, could be wrong though.

hi guys,
Im in the green zzr
a great weekend, but Moochofun (yellow busa 1340) pipped me by 0.13 of a second
bit of a school boy error by not putting enough fuel in and suffered starvation on the last run, but other than that the new car ran very well.
Even held the record for 20 seconds until he took it off me again
come say hello next time
Cheers

Not only wire fences, there is a great big cow shed built at the fastest part of the main straight
Unfortunately one of the OMS single seaters demolished itself against the armco on the shed on Saturday.

I am 100% throttle in 4th gear just passing the bails on the right and braking down to 3rd for Ruin. Great little place, but it is tight and is too
short.
Will get some videos uploaded, but Matty in the 1398 Busa has his up already.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Va88r2T53c
I believe this run is 32-33 second run - he wont mind me saying that he is braking early for Ruin (corner 1) and losing time up through combine. Ross
ran a 30.34 to lower the record from a 30.64. Dont think he had his camera running though
My damp run on the Saturday was a laugh, especially when you have size 11 feet like me. Many will agree that I am never been that delicate on the
throttle anyway...
More impressive is Donald in his 600+bhp Evo going up in 28.94 seconds... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vC9U7-E6jmE&NR=1
