Cheers Jeff...

MRC (along with a number of tuners) can obviously tweak the Bosch Motronic ECU's to run 'better' in the original platform (it's their business), but I don't think they fully understand that when people talk of running the FSi engine away from the car it was intended for... that they mean just that!

Doug was stating on PH that you can run the FSi system outside the B7 car with the OEM ECU's or even with an aftermarket ECU. Well, I spoke with one of his colleagues at MRC a while back and he didn't know if it could be done... was wiling to give it a go, but couldn't promise anything (except a substantial bill... and I do mean substantial!).

I discussed this situation with Bosch engineers who designed the RS4 Motronic twin-ECU system - they say it can't be done.

I've also approached every aftermarket ECU manufacturer from DTA to Motec... none can (as yet) supply a product that will run the V8 FSi.

IMHO your better to use a 90 Quattro Saloon shape.... Touring car style

That bubbly Coupe never looked quite right "from the rear" to me somehow.

You need to speak to Doug or Mihnea....accept no substitutes.

It is going to be pricey, but you knew that already. A non-FSi 4.2 V8 would have been much easier

My engine is now non-FSi

Much cheaper to do this than to experiment with ECU's (without any guarantee's) and keeps the valves nice and clean!

Hopefully get more next week when it's all done and dusted... have had to send the Manifolds back to have them extended by another 2" due to fouling on the Cam lids!

Bugger Bugger Bugger!
