Oooooppsss!!!
Well i am now a certified plonker!!!
Managed to drop an 8ft concrete fence post onto my fingers last night (only from a few inches though) and now have an open fracture at the end of my
ring finger!!! So thats 6 weeks to heal properly according to the hospital - car building wont be so easy now but i'm sure i'll be trying
my best later on!!
The England match looked rubbish anyway from what i saw of it!!!
Oh i took a pic too!! LOL

I did a similar thing a few years back but tried catching a coping stone which resulted in the "traumatic amputation" of the tip of my
middle finger. Fortunately I didn't lose that much but the bone did need trimming a little to allow an "advancement flap" procedure.
I can give all the details if you want - The procedure was done under a local so I got to see the lot. I had 28 stiches in one finger tip, some of
which were through the nail.
It's only when you damage a finger that you realise how sensitive (and important!!) they are (and yes I do wear gloves for DIY etc a lot more
now).
Did I tell you about the time that I got 50% caustic soda solution in my eye... ?

no but do tell...
When I was at primary school a kid dropped (deliberately) a concrete block on my foot and basically crushed the bone in my toes as I was wearing
plimsolls. If I came across him today I'd probably beat the crap out him, even though I was about 7 I still remember it well.

yip that nail looks a tad flat, oh well you'd be suprised how well that will heal. I think I'd have that dipped in a glass of ice water
otherwise it might swell and bruse.

Nasty. My thumb (and wrist) is currently in plaster after a slight mishap with an angle grinder. I've been told 10 days and the plaster can
be removed, probably to be replaced by a splint. then another 6 - 8 weeks for the tendon to heal.
Car building stopped for a while but I've made some nice flat GRP panels today. I'm limited to what I can do 1 handed or steadied with
the fingers of the other hand.

Few years ago I was in spain on a skydiving holiday and the Red Devils turned up. The group I was with challenged them to a go kart race but one of
the RDs caught his finger tip in the drive chain. We all ended up walking round the track looking for his finger tip. When asked if it hurt he said of
course not he was a Red Devil to which my reply was if he was a real man he would have finished the race. I'm still in hiding.

My (youngest) brother was walking backwards with a lawn mower (26 years ago) and tripped on a trailer (long grass etc etc). Net result, he starts
falling backwards, tries to balance, lifts lawnmower, and up goes foot!
Very very very luck he only lost one toe (next to big).
Worst bit, he was due to go with me and school sailing on the med, then canoeing on the Ardeche for a fortnight.
I've been lucky and only got the usual hammer, grinder and bow saw scars (well, the hammer scars are more mental than physical - like upending a
club hammer to resit head, bash it on surface only for head to slide so far down it caught the skin between index finger and thumb)
Thought I'd better add, hope you're better soon, Paul.

we were stacking concrete blocks one day
he put some on a pile but dropped to the floor like a sack of spuds
the stack was at waist height so you can guess what was caught
ended up having it sewn up
